Pastor of Discipleship & Missions
In the Lord’s kindness, I came to salvific faith at a young age and had the blessing of a family and local church that participated in the nurturing of my faith and ongoing discipleship.
It has been the desire of my heart since high school to serve in the context of the local church. As a young man I was blessed to be in a church which, in addition to caring for me, also affirmed my gifting and desire to serve. To this end I secured my B.A. in Pastoral Ministries and Bible at the Bible College of Columbia International University in Columbia SC. After graduation I married my wife, Denise, and we moved to southern CA where I studied at The Master’s Seminary and she graduated from The Master’s College.
We returned to GA anticipating a brief season home before I would return to CA and complete my program of study. However, in the Lord’s providence, that brief season became a time of operating a small business, the welcoming of two sons (Noah and Silas), and some years of service in local Law Enforcement. During this time the Lord was pleased to press and change me in ways that have proven invaluable. I also had the privilege of serving a local church in its foreign missions’ program where we sent out several families from our own congregation, and we completely revised our vision of what missionary care should be in and through the local church.
With the blessing and encouragement of the Elders of our church, my family and I moved our membership to Pray’s Mill Baptist Church. After joining Pray’s Mill I served in various areas and was eventually examined and approved as the church’s first lay Elder candidate. I was ordained in November of 2014 as a lay Pastor/Elder. After serving in this capacity for a year I had the privilege of transitioning to a full-time Pastor/Elder where I exercise oversight of Discipleship and Missions at Pray’s Mill.
It is my goal to see all of our church family mature in Christ, long for our Lord’s return, and to advance the hope of the gospel to all peoples.
