My wife, Laura, and I lived in Louisville from 2004 through most of 2011 and were extremely excited to arrive in Douglasville in November of 2011 to start the next chapter of our lives at Pray’s Mill Baptist Church. We met while students at Ole Miss and got married in October of 2004 and, as you can see from the picture, have seen our family grow since then. Our children are Mikias, Molly Kate, Miles and Madden. Mikias and Miles arrived from Ethiopia and into our family in March and June of 2010, respectively.
Pastor Josh and I met during a class on worship at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville and our paths seemed to cross every couple of years after that. In October of 2010, he emailed me to see if I knew of anyone gifted with music and education that was called to pastor. My initial thought was wondering if I was a suitable option or did he just want recommendations outside of myself. I awkwardly responded that I was interested in speaking to him further but that I knew of no one else. From there, we continued our conversations and questions to make sure that we were in agreement on all major issues and the majority of minor issues. One continuing issue is whether or not Bulldogs and Rebels can actually work together!
I have been thrilled to learn my first weeks here that Pray’s Mill is filled with gifted teachers and musicians. It is Christ who builds His church and He has blessed us in many ways and with many gifting’s that we may function in a way that leads to maturity. My family and I look forward to growing alongside the people here at Pray’s Mill for the glory of Christ and the good of His people.
